How do I play?

Choose Play from Home, then tap a starting corner. Answer correctly to claim it and head for the diagonally opposite corner. Moves can go to any adjacent cell, including diagonals. Wrong answers burn cells and cost a life.

Single or Double Cross?

Single is one diagonal. In Double Cross, finish the first diagonal, then tap either unused corner as a new start. Answer there and cross to its opposite. You do not walk to the second start. Lives, burned cells and deductions carry over.

Can I revisit solved cells?

Yes. Re-entering a solved cell requires no question but costs one move. Burned cells remain blocked for that game.

How does scoring work?

BoardSingle maximumDouble Cross maximum
4×45001,000
5×56251,250
6×67501,500
7×78751,750
8×81,0002,000

Deduct 25 points per move beyond the original perfect-route allowance, 50 per wrong answer or timeout, 50 per delivered hint, 50 per elimination and 150 per Jumble. Move advice is free. Failed or canceled hint requests are not charged.

The perfect-route allowance accounts for the original walls and freezes when you first attempt a corner. A completed game keeps at least 10% of its ceiling. An unfinished game's points are additionally scaled by estimated route progress and can be zero. Wandering does not increase that progress.

Completed games always rank above unfinished games. Within each group, higher points win and equal points tie. Time is not a tiebreaker. During play the score shows points available, not the final result.

How many lives and Jumbles?

Start with twice the board width in lives: 8 through 16. Jumble costs two lives and 150 points, requires more than two lives remaining, and can be used up to the board width times per game.

What does the timer do?

The optional Question Timer gives 15 seconds to answer. A timeout counts once as a wrong answer. Feedback stays visible until you tap OK. Canceling Quit does not reset the timer or your answer.

What is the Daily Challenge?

One attempt per UTC day on a 5×5 Single board. Topics rotate daily, but questions come from each player's pool, so this is not an identical worldwide quiz. Once you reveal a question, quitting uses your attempt. Daily play streaks track consecutive days played.

What does Retry Same Board do?

It starts a new attempt using the original layout and questions. It does not grant another Daily attempt.

Where are the topic colors?

Settings → Appearance contains Look and Topic Palette. Select up to 16 topics; Topics in Play identifies those on your board.

Do I need Apple Intelligence or a connection?

Free move advice works without Apple Intelligence. Optional AI text needs a supported device with Apple Intelligence available and enabled. AI requests stay on-device. Play offline with stored questions; downloads, leaderboards and question reports require a connection.

Can I challenge a friend?

Competitive friend challenges and topic authoring are not part of this release. Sharing a result does not enable multiplayer.

How do I report a question?

Use the question's flag action, choose a reason and optionally add detail. Reports are reviewed to improve the library. A connection is required.

What happened to my old scores?

The first Scoredux launch resets legacy scores and unfinished games because the scoring system changed. Preferences, downloaded questions and purchases are preserved. This reset does not repeat on every launch.
